Club Rules
- When you enter the DOJO (the hall in which Judo is practiced) you should always bow.
- You should always wait until the instructor asks you to come on to the mat.
- Once you have been asked to come on to the mat bow before you go on.
- When you are on the mat you should always ask permission from sensei to leave the mat.
- When you leave the mat or DOJO you should again bow.
- Make sure you use the toilet before you come on to the mat.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the DOJO.
- When you are off the mat you should wear Zoris or slip on shoes.
- Your Judo suit should be clean at all times.
- All girls should wear a white t-shirt under their suit.
- All long hair should be tied back.
- All jewelry including earrings must be removed.
- Messing around in the DOJO will not be tolerated AT ANY TIME.
- Do not walk around the mat whilst the practice of throws are in progress.
- Respect your sensei at all times his name is always sensei in the Dojo and on the mat (not Stewart).
- Respect your partner at all times and respect higher grades.
- Be considerate to lower grades.
- Be quiet in the DOJO.
- Do not indulge in horse play on the mat or you will be sent off.
- Keep your toes and finger nails short.
- YOU SHOULD NEVER USE JUDO OUT- SIDE OF THE DOJO (UNLESS IN SELF DEFENCE).
- You should NEVER use Judo outside of the DOJO (unless in self-defense).
These rules will be part of your induction program. Failure to comply with them could result in you being asked to leave the club.
