This weekend just gone, Joe Anker-Munnerley, Jasmine Turner, Luke Turner, David Jones, Shane Davies and Riley Hall-Woodcock all went to Mierlo in Holland to fight in the 14th ‘Houvast’ Tournament.  It was really tough and only one player, Shane Davies, won a trophy (gold) - well done, and well done to all our other players, who fought really hard, but were unlucky enough to win trophies.  Riley just missed out on the bronze.

Sunday the 10th May was the East Midlands Area Low Grade Open tournament 2009 held at Earl Shilton in Leicestershire.  As usual, we came home with several trophies.  Well done to Joshua Dunn (his first tournament), Joshua Stoke, Ben Bradshaw and Reece Harrington, who all fought really hard, but just missed out on winning trophies.  Here are the results below of the trophy winners:

Today was another successful day at the AJA National Closed Championships 2009 held at Castle Vale. Well done to all who took part; it was tough. Below is a table of all those who won a medal. Well done to Callum Davies and Reece Harrington who fought really well, but were unlucky enough to take home a medal. The winners in the table below have been invited in May to be part of the AJA England squad, who will fight at the International ‘Houvast’ Judo Tournament at Mierlo in Holland. Good luck!
